Why Dwarf Umbrella Trees?
An adaptable gem perfect for growing indoors or out, the Dwarf Umbrella Tree, also known as Schefflera, makes the ultimate statement. With its no-fuss maintenance and year-round, glossy dark green leaves, this joyful plant is second to none.
Even better? It's an exotic house plant with versatility to spare. These plush green plants can be grown as bushes, trees or even as bonsais, since you can train the trunk to be braided and create an elegant look a la the classic Ficus. The stems grow upwards and out in a symmetrical circle like an unfolded umbrella. The plush greenery is accompanied by long red tentacles that look like flowers in bloom for dramatic dimension you'll love.

Customer Reviews & Photos
Beautiful plant. Huge!
Nice plant in my living room.
I have this in a corner that does not get any direct light. Water it once a week. Hope it does well as some of my plants have gotten too big to manage well.
My Dwarf Umbrella arrived in great shape several weeks ago and it has much new growth and is very healthy. One note of caution for pet owners that I discovered after I got the plant: Scheffleras are toxic to dogs and cats. Since learning this I've taken mine off the dolly on the floor my sunroom and placed my up on a high pedestal.
Highly recommend! Beautiful plant and unique with a perfect shape. Very easy to grow.
I love this plant! I was surprised at how big it was when I received it. But I'm more surprised at how fast it is growing. It has grown at least 3-4 inches in one month. It gets no direct sunlight but indirect light in my foyer. It is thriving!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: During the winter months, the Dwarf Umbrella enjoys bright light. As for spring and summer, it does well with indirect light and a bit of dappled shade. However, the Umbrella Plant prefers warm temperatures, so be sure to keep it away from drafty areas.
When you're repotting or planting your Umbrella, select a container that's twice the width of the shipped container and one that has drainage holes.
2. Watering: Water your Schefflera Plant lightly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not soggy. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind: Put your finger in the soil to check its level of moisture. There is no need to water your Dwarf Umbrella until you have a full inch of dryness starting from the top of the soil.
