Bubble Bath™ Hardy Panicle Hydrangea Shrub

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place the shrub in the center of the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with a mixture of compost and native soil. Spread a 3-inch settled layer of mulch extending 3 feet around the shrub, keeping mulch a few inches away from the base of the stems. Mulch helps conserve moisture, insulate roots, and suppress weeds. Water thoroughly after planting to help settle the roots.

2. Watering: Regular watering is essential, especially during the initial establishment period. Ensure the soil remains moist but not soggy. Once established, water deeply once a week during dry spells, providing enough moisture to promote healthy growth and flowering.

3. Pruning: Panicle hydrangeas bloom on new wood and can be pruned in fall or spring. In winter, stems may be pruned to keep plants tidy, or dried flower heads can be left in place for winter interest. Prune back about one-third of the overall shrub, or simply remove any dead wood as needed.

4. Fertilizing: Feed your hydrangea in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote robust growth. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to excessive foliage at the expense of blooms.
