Placing the bag on a flat surface can help regulate watering; it will drain faster when placed on a slope.

These slow release water bags are simple to use and help with reducing weeds around my trees and shrubs.
Not What I Expected, but . . .
When I purchased the ArborRain Slow Watering Ring, I assumed the ring would take much more time to empty. From the item description, I expected the water to last for several days. But it was empty within 4 hours. At first I thought I might have a leak. But after re-reading the information, I realized it would release a "week's worth" of water in several hours. I almost returned the item as I had hoped it would keep me from having to water my new tree several times a day. But, the tree is showing no signs of wilting, and even though I refill the ring every day, it's still better than the alternative.

We recently bought them for our new trees. It really takes the worry out of making sure to get enough water to them. They take some getting used as as far as holding the hose in the right position to fill, but learning is fast. I just bought some more!
