A Simple & Resilient Houseplant That Will Add The Perfect Touch!

This Rubber Plant (aka “Burgundy Bush) is a stunning ornamental Ficus. It lights up any room as a centerpiece or table plant at 1 to 2 feet tall.  Let it grow to 3 feet tall for a welcoming addition to an entranceway – or a warm enhancement beside your fireplace!

Continue to let it grow, and it can climb to great heights.  It will mature to 8 feet tall with ease indoors, making quite an impressive accent to your family room’s décor.  Planted in the ground in zones 10 and 11, the Burgundy Bush will actually reach 40 feet in height!

Unusual and Bold Foliage
This is not your typical Ficus.  The Burgundy bush develops large 4 inch-wide leaves that will extend up to 12 inches long.  The most impressive aspect is the deep burgundy/chocolate hues and vibrant red midrib.  Add warmth to any living space, or even grow this beautiful plant in your office. Keep in mind that if the air is very dry, you should mist the rich, glossy foliage from time to time with a spray bottle of water.

Easiest Houseplant To Grow!
Known as the ultimate “starter” plant because of its low maintenance and simplistic nature, it will give confidence to first time growers.  Able to handle a decent amount of neglect, this Rubber Plant is forgiving when not watered regularly. In fact it prefers to dry out between waterings.

It’s not finicky about the environment. Temperatures that meet our comfort level are agreeable with this plant. The ideal temperature is between 65 degrees and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

It likes bright light, but not direct sunlight for an extended amount of time.  If you prefer to place it in front of a window, it will be most successful if shielded by a sheer curtain.  This allows a degree of bright light in - without scorching the gorgeous leaves or fading its color.

The Rubber Plant (Ficus) – Burgundy Bush is available right now! Place your order, and we’ll ship it out within 24 hours.

Arrived in good condition. Looks very healthy but we’ll see after it’s been in its pot for a little while. It’s quite pretty and has new growth. Hopefully it lives!

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Rubber Plant (Ficus)

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Rubber Plant (Ficus).

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Planting & Care

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your Rubber Plant (Ficus) gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your Rubber Plant (Ficus) again after the transplant is complete.
