Easy to Grow, Indoors or Out

An adaptable gem perfect for growing indoors or out, the Dwarf Umbrella Tree makes the ultimate statement. With its no-fuss maintenance and year-round, glossy dark green leaves, this joyful plant is second to none.

Even better? It's an exotic house plant with versatility to spare. These plush green plants can be grown as bushes, trees or even as bonsais, since you can train the trunk to be braided and create an elegant look a la the classic Ficus.

Plus, it's an amazing accent piece, adding a touch of nature to your home or office. Keep it trimmed for a lovely tabletop plant, or let it expand into an accent or entrance-way container plant. The Dwarf Umbrella Tree is the privacy option that blooms.

Grown in the warmer climates of growing zones 10 through 11 outdoors, this plant fills in - ultimately producing 12 to 16 leaflets from a single stalk. The stems grow upwards and out in a symmetrical circle like an unfolded umbrella. The plush greenery is accompanied by long red tentacles that look like flowers in bloom for dramatic dimension you'll love.

Best of all, the Dwarf Umbrella Plant isn't all about looks - it helps you breathe more easily, too! NASA’s Clean Air Study found that common indoor plants are instrumental in filtering out harmful toxins and pollutants from the air. We can’t think of a better way to enjoy cleaner air than with this visually interesting and vivacious plant.

Luxe, luxuriant and uniquely-crafted - the Dwarf Umbrella Plant has it all. Order one (or a few) of your own today!

Nice plant in my living room.
I have this in a corner that does not get any direct light. Water it once a week. Hope it does well as some of my plants have gotten too big to manage well.

Terrific Plant
My Dwarf Umbrella arrived in great shape several weeks ago, and it has much new growth and is very healthy. One note of caution for pet owners that I discovered after I got the plant: Scheffleras are toxic to dogs and cats. Since learning this I've taken mine off the dolly on the floor my sunroom and placed my up on a high pedestal.

Highly recommend! Beautiful plant and unique with a perfect shape. Very easy to grow.
I love this plant! I was surprised at how big it was when I received it. But, I’m more surprised at how fast it is growing. It has grown at least 3-4 inches in one month. It gets no direct sunlight but indirect light in my foyer. It is thriving!
Lots of new growth!

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Dwarf Umbrella Tree - Schefflera

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Dwarf Umbrella Tree - Schefflera.

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your Dwarf Umbrella Tree - Schefflera gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your Dwarf Umbrella Tree - Schefflera again after the transplant is complete.

I recently lost my 8" schefflera plant during a move. The plant had to be transported outside in 15 degree weather and it went into complete shock. The plant otherwise was EXTREMELY hearty.
