Winter Jewels® Onyx Odyssey Lenten Rose Plant

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location that receives partial to full shade, ideally with well-draining soil. Dig a hole that allows for sufficient root space and place the plant, ensuring the crown is level with the soil surface.

2. Watering: Once established, Onyx Odyssey is fairly drought-tolerant. However, regular watering during dry spells is beneficial, especially in the first year. Water deeply to encourage root growth, allowing the top inch of the soil to dry out between waterings.

3. Pruning: Prune off any dead or damaged leaves in late winter before flowering begins. After the blooms fade, you may also trim spent flowers to tidy the plant, but avoid cutting back foliage until it starts to yellow.

4. Fertilizing: A light application of balanced, slow-release fertilizer in spring can promote healthy growth. If the soil is particularly poor, consider amending it with organic matter to boost nutrient levels.
