Brand New Variety of Redbud With Stunning Deep Purple Foliage
The newest Redbud is unique and gorgeous. Fans of Redbuds love how adaptable and dependable these trees are. Now, the newest variety, the Black Pearl™Redbud, offers the same dependability and charm with a new, exciting color that will look stunning in your yard.
The Black Pearl™Redbud is like a Redbud Plus. You’ll still get everything from this tree that you love about Redbuds - attractive and broad leaves, charming buds and flowers, interesting shapes and silhouettes in winter. But you’ll also get new features that will make this tree even more desirable in your landscape.
Deep Purple Leaves make this tree unlike any other. The most exciting feature of the new Black Pearl™Redbud is the outstanding color of the foliage. The leaves are so deeply purple, they almost appear glossy black, which is where the name Black Pearl™comes from.
Sweet, lavender blossoms contrast perfectly against the dark leaves. In spring, small sweet-pea shaped, lavender flowers bloom and look stunning against the deep purple leaves. Whether you plant this tree alone or amongst others in your garden, it will certainly add interest and ornamental value.
Very dense foliage gives it a full, healthy appearance. While some trees’ sparse leaves and branches can make them appear thin and unhealthy, the Black Pearl™Redbud is a very dense tree. The leaves and branches grow close together, adding a sense of fullness and vitality to your landscape.
Irregular branches offer a dramatic winter display. This tree is a showstopper even in its dormant season. The irregular growth patterns of the branches form a captivating silhouette during cold, winter months - a perfect contrast to your evergreens.
The manageable height makes this a perfect tree for any yard. Even smaller yards can benefit from the Black Pearl™Redbud as it is a semi-dwarf variety, growing only to 15-20 ft. Plant them near your yard’s edge or driveway to add a captivating entry to your home.
People become serious fans of Redbuds. Being so adaptable, dependable, and beautiful, many people are fans of Redbubs and they want to showcase the freshest varieties in their landscape. Since the Black Pearl™Redbud is the newest variety, they will sell out very quickly. Don’t hesitate to buy yours today!
Planting & Care
Choose a site that is 6 ft away from existing structures and 3 ft away from fences. Make sure you plant your Black Pearl?‹? Redbud in a place that gets full sun and a little bit of afternoon shade. Also make sure the soil is well-draining. Clear an area of 3 ft. and remove plants, grass, debris and weeds. You can incorporate compost into the soil before planting to improve growth rates. Dig a hole twice as big as the root ball. Loosen the roots and plant. Fill the rest of the hole with soil and water. Use a total of 10 gallons of water when planting. Add 3 inches thick around the planting site, but stay 4 inches away from the trunk.
Watering: During the establishment period, water as needed, but do not overwater. Redbuds do not need excessive water to thrive as they are very drought tolerant.
Pruning: There’s no need to prune the Redbud, but if you want, you can prune in the dormant season to get rid of any unwanted branches or growth.
