Pam's Picks
These are the large, purple-red plums that you find in the market. Now you can grow them in your own backyard! Fresh, healthy, delicious plums.
The perfect tree if you want loads of delicious plums!

• Branching habit encourages more plums
• Uniquely pruned to produce more fruit
• Grow organically - no need to spray chemicals

The Burbank is one of the most demanded plums because of its sweet & juicy taste... and it gives you bushels of fruit that will last you months!

The branches have a unique forking habit - it grows more branches than most plum trees. It's these additional branches that give you tons of extra plums... every year.

In fact, some plum trees in our nursery have already produced fruit!

The young branches are low and sweeping, meaning that it will be easy for you to reach out and pluck a plum right off your new tree. And forget about spraying insecticides... grow your fruit organically.

The end result is bushels full of easy to pick plums at the end of every summer. These juicy plums make great snacks, but you can also use them for baking and desserts!

You will be sent a plum tree that has been pruned back from 8 ft. tall. This means you get:
- An advanced root system ready to pack on new growth
- A well-developed branching structure that yields more fruit
- A more tolerant tree that can adapt to your environment quickly

Prior to shipping, your Burbank Plum trees receive a final pruning at no cost to you.

For optimal fruiting, cross pollinate with another plum tree. Our Santa Rosa plum is a perfect choice!

Your Dwarf Burbank Plum can be planted any time of year!

We Hate to Wait and know you do too! That's why Fast Growing Trees Nursery leads the industry in how quickly we get your order out.  While some orders go out immediately, most are shipped within 7-10 days of your order date. This does not include transit time, which can be several days depending on your state.

We try to avoid plants being in transit over the weekend, which may cause your order to be shipped out at the beginning of the following week. We use FedEx so your order is shipped quickly.

Several products are delayed shipping until the Fall or Spring. These delays are stated on the product description page and helps us insure that you get the healthiest plants possible. On rare occasions, we will delay shipping if we see severe weather forecasts for your area or ours or if we encounter other unusual issues.

If you would like to postpone or reschedule your ship date, just call us and we can send your plants out at a more convenient time for you. If you are sending plants as a gift or need them quicker than normal, we encourage you to place your order by phone.

It's Easy to Plant your Dwarf Burbank Plum
Step 1 - Dig Your Hole
Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Dwarf Burbank Plum. If you're planting a hedge, mark out a visual guide by placing stakes five to six feet apart and looping string around them. Plant the trees where the stakes are and they'll grow together to make a dense privacy screen. First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width. Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through. Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.
Step 2 - Place Your Tree
Next, separate the roots of your Dwarf Burbank Plum gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole. The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil. Then make sure the tree is exactly vertical in the hole. To make it just right, use a level.
Step 3 - Backfill Your Hole
As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets. Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps. Water your Dwarf Burbank Plum again after the transplant is complete. To help retain some of that moisture, it's recommended that you place mulch around each tree to a depth of 2"-3" up to but not touching the trunk. Organic mulches such as wood chips or pine needles also help to better soil structure as they decompose.
