Attractive - Easy to Grow - Bushels of Plums
You'll love picking these delicious, sun ripened Methley plums from your very own tree... just outside your door!
This vigorous plum tree, considered more productive and attractive than just about any other plum tree, an established tree produces an abundant harvest of fruit each year.
So much, in fact, that one harvest requires multiple pickings! It's an upright, spreading tree with pretty springtime blossoms and glossy green leaves that make it quite ornamental.
The juicy, deep red fruit of the Methley is harvested in late June to early July, and is delicious...eaten freshly picked or made into preserves.
The Methley is self-fertile and does not require another plum tree to produce fruit.
Methley is also a low-maintenance tree that requires little to no pruning. Disease resistant and tolerant of dry, hot conditions. Prefers full sun, but is adaptable to nearly any type of soil. An ideal fruit tree for growing zones 5-9.

Wowowowowow!!!!!
Planted in September 2023. The photos are from May 2024. Absolute perfection—full, healthy, fruit-bearing tree within the same year, at the very first possible blooming season!
New plant parents, be ready to research!
I bought a 3-4’ Methley plum this time last year and chose a nice, sunny spot to plant it. At first it was very slow to grow, but I soon learned this was because my soil had traces of bacteria that had made the tree sick. I spent much of the growing season battling bacterial infections and insect infestations before finally seeing some growth—but now that my soil is taken care of and I know what insects to look out for in my area, this tree has shot up to about twice its original height and is looking lush and happy. All that said, this is a quality tree from a quality nursery and will thrive with proper care, but it may take a bit of research (and trial and error) to get it there! No regrets, and I absolutely recommend both the company and the tree.
