With its stunning display of fiery red plumes, the Dragon’s Breath® Celosia makes a dramatic statement in any garden or landscape. Accentuated with deep maroon and olive, variegated foliage, the Dragon’s Breath® Celosia has quickly gained popularity among garden enthusiasts and landscape lovers alike.
Living up to its name, the Dragon’s Breath® Celosia loves the sun and can withstand and even thrive in trying temperatures, with the extreme heat of summer bringing out even deeper color in its blooms. Cooler night temperatures have the same effect, proving this plant's hardiness.
In addition to its striking beauty and hardiness, the Dragon’s Breath® Celosia is extremely versatile. Because of its temperature adaptability it can thrive in many different climates across the country and works well in various planting arrangements, including beds, patio pots, containers, and even indoors. And it does exceptionally well when planted in combination with other sun-loving, flowering plants.
Even better, the Dragon’s Breath® Celosia is quick and easy to grow and doesn’t mind drying out a bit between waterings. Its cockscomb plumes can grow up to 2 feet high and last throughout summer and into fall.
If you’re looking for a stunning centerpiece for your mixed containers or a wave of red-hot drama across your landscape, look no further than the Dragon’s Breath® Celosia! Get yours today before they’re gone!
NOTE: This plant is an annual, so be sure to plant it after the first frost to enjoy throughout the warmer months!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: For garden planting, plant in well-drained, moist, or dry soil rich in organic matter, such as well-decomposed compost, and in full sun. If repotting into larger containers, don't bury the main stem below the soil surface.
2. Watering: Water your Dragon’s Breath® Celosia regularly and keep the soil moist for the first 7-10 days after planting. Mulch if desired to help retain soil moisture, and water more if under severe drought.
3. Fertilizing: Feed with a slow-release fertilizer upon planting.
Estimated Shipping Time: Most orders ship immediately. As noted on the website, some items are seasonal, and may only ship in spring or fall. Once your order is shipped, you'll receive an email with a tracking number.
