Our Nursery Manager, Paul, recently confessed a secret. He just told everyone that last fall, he started to carefully prune all the fruit trees we had out in our nursery. He learned this technique from his days as a master gardener in Massachusetts.

“That’s why they’re so big and bushy, and why they’re producing so much fruit at such a young age,” he said with a smile on his face.

Paul was right… these trees are huge! All the apple trees in our nursery had more branches than usual, which means that they’re able to produce more fruit than a normal fruit tree.

“I even give them a quick snip before we send them out… just to make sure that it’s perfect. This is also because some of them are so big, they wouldn’t fit in the box!”
