The Modern and Attractive Indoor Plant

The ZZ Plant, or ‘Zamioculas Zamilfolia’, is an evergreen shrub with wide, flat, glossy leaves with a dark green hue that will instantly add a pop of exotic color to your home or office. Make any old boring table or desktop come to life with the ZZ plant.

This plant can instantly be displayed as soon as it arrives because it’s shipped in a decorative pot. For this reason, ZZ plants make excellent gifts, because your loved ones will receive a full plant that’s already in an eye-catching container. No work of finding a pot or repotting is required.

Plus, by only growing about one to two feet tall, the ZZ plant can fit anywhere. The decorative possibilities for this houseplant are endless; place it in any area that could use lively color.

ZZ plants have succulent leaves, meaning they store their own water. This is an incredibly low maintenance plant that is drought tolerant and thrives in conditions with low light.

You will love having a ZZ plant around because they will give you a breath of fresh air. They are known for their striking abilities to clean the air and filter toxins out. ZZ Plants take old stale air and recycle it into air that’s crisp and clean.

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your ZZ Plant

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your ZZ Plant.

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Planting & Care

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your ZZ Plant gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your ZZ Plant again after the transplant is complete.
