Slow Release Watering Bag: This is simply a must for any new tree you’ve planted, especially with the immense summer heat this country is experiencing. These 25 gallon drip bags give your trees a great shot at survival after planting by ensuring water gets right to the roots. It doesn’t get easier than this!
We’re letting you in on a secret that landscape pros have kept all to themselves for years! If you’ve driven around town and have seen landscaping contractors installing newly planted trees with an innovative and efficient green drip bag around the tree’s trunk, then you’ve seen one of the #1 landscape products of the last decade—TreeGator Original.

TreeGator is a pioneering slow release watering system that ensures the successful transplantation of your new trees. If you’ve gone through the expense and time to put new trees into your landscape, why not go the extra mile and prevent tree loss by doing exactly what the experts do to deliver continual moisture to the soil to guarantee a strong root structure.

The pros know that if a tree fails, the replacement cost will come directly out of their pocket. So, to guarantee a happy customer and a healthy tree with a strong root structure, they have been quietly using TreeGator Original to prevent costly transplant failure. Now you can also give your trees the same benefits that the pros have known about all along!

It can’t be easier to use TreeGator! Simply fill the bag with water directly from your garden hose or a rain barrel, and you’re on your way to planting success with minimal effort on your part. You simply set up the drip bag, fill it and walk away! The bag then slowly releases the water directly to roots over the course of 7 to 9 hours. All the water is utilized with zero waste, and without annoying run-off or evaporation.

Our recent droughts and oppressively hot summers spell disaster for newly planted trees, particularly in the first three years of planting where they are most likely to suffer transplant shock and root stress. TreeGator Original takes all the guesswork out of what it takes to make certain your tree survives.

As added bonus, you can also easily deliver important slow release nutrients and fertilizers to your tree via the TreeGator drip system as well. These are available directly on our website and can be purchased separately for your convenience.

TreeGator Original holds 15-25 gallons of water and sports a 5-year limited warrantee.

Your TreeGator Original can be planted any time of year!

We try to avoid plants being in transit over the weekend. Packages  are typically shipped within 2-3 weeks.  You will receive a tracking  email from FedEx when your order goes into their system.

Most products are shipped throughout the year unless specified as “Spring” or “Fall” Delivery. On rare occasions, we will delay shipping if we see severe weather forecasts for your area or ours or if we encounter other unusual issues.  If you do have a delayed item, we would be happy to send your other items sooner at your request.

If you would like to postpone or reschedule your ship date, just call us and we can send your plants out at a more convenient time for you.

If you are sending plants as a gift or need them quicker than normal, we encourage you to place your order by phone at 888-504-2001.

It's Easy to Plant your TreeGator Original
Step 1 - Dig Your Hole
Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your TreeGator Original. If you're planting a hedge, mark out a visual guide by placing stakes five to six feet apart and looping string around them. Plant the trees where the stakes are and they'll grow together to make a dense privacy screen. First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width. Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through. Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.
Step 2 - Place Your Tree
Next, separate the roots of your TreeGator Original gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole. The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil. Then make sure the tree is exactly vertical in the hole. To make it just right, use a level.
Step 3 - Backfill Your Hole
As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets. Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps. Water your TreeGator Original again after the transplant is complete. To help retain some of that moisture, it's recommended that you place mulch around each tree to a depth of 2"-3" up to but not touching the trunk. Organic mulches such as wood chips or pine needles also help to better soil structure as they decompose.
