Grows indoors or Out... North or South

The first time I tasted sugar cane I was hooked. In the middle of no-where Haiti I chewed a section of sugar cane, enjoying the sweet, slightly vanilla  juice. I instantly understood why people around the world love this tantalizing plant.

Sugar cane is a stunning ornamental. It looks just like dark purple bamboo with a varnished finish and long slender leaves. Home designers love it for its modern flare and its exotic feel. You can make a privacy hedge, windbreak or accent piece out of sugar cane that will yield pounds of sweet juicy sugar cane for you to enjoy.

Our sugar cane is perfectly suited to indoor gardening! No matter how far north you live, anyone can easily grow their own sugar inside near a sunny window.

Store bought sugars are refined with bleach and other chemicals. You can make your own homemade sugar that contains antioxidants, flavonoids and a richer flavor. Diabetics can enjoy the cane as well with its relatively low glycemic index of 43.

There is so much you can do with  your homegrown sugar cane. You can easily make your own homemade southern syrups, distill your own rum, or  boil molasses. Baked goods taste out of this world when you use fresh, unrefined sugar. You can sweeten your coffee or tea by simply placing a small strip of raw cane in your beverage. Some professional chefs use it to skewer fresh shrimp for a unique tropical taste. Sugar cane juice makes the perfect energy/sports drink with natural glucose and electrolytes for long sustained energy without the crash. The easiest, and my children’s favorite, is sitting back and gnawing on a fresh cut piece.

Easy to grow, No pruning No problems! This will be the lowest maintenance plant you own. The only time you will have to touch your plant is to water it and harvest it. Nothing complicated, just sweet abundant sugar cane.

Will produce great tasting canes for 6 to 8 years … paying for itself many times over. Every year when you harvest those succulent canes, just cut it to the ground and prepare for another bounty.

It takes 3 plants to make a pound of sugar.

We only offer sugar cane for limited times of the year. Order now while they are still available.

Planting & Care

It's Easy to Plant & Care for Your Sugar Cane 'Noble'

Step 1: Dig Your Hole

Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Sugar Cane 'Noble'.

First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width.

Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through.

Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Planting & Care

Step 2: Place Your Plant

Next, separate the roots of your Sugar Cane 'Noble' gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole.

The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil.

Then make sure the plant is exactly vertical in the hole.

To make it just right, use a level.

Step 3: Backfill Your Hole

As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets.

Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps.

Water your Sugar Cane 'Noble' again after the transplant is complete.
