Planting your White Flowering Dogwood Tree is trouble-free! |

Step 1 - Dig the Hole
The best spot for planting a White Flowering Dogwood Tree is an area with moist but well-drained soil that gets full to partial sun. Dig a hole approximately twice the diameter of the root system and about a foot deeper. You might want to put the soil in a wheel barrow since you’ll be using it for backfill later. Then loosen the soil on the walls of the planting hole so the roots can easily penetrate the soil. |

Step 2 - Place the Tree
Set the tree in the planting hole. The top of the root ball should be about an inch above the bordering soil. Next, spread out the roots in the hole. Now make sure the tree is straight up and down. Use a level to make it perfect. If there is a preferred side to your White Flowering Dogwood Tree, turn it where you can see it. |

Step 3 – Backfill the Hole As you fill the hole back in with soil, apply water to remove air pockets. Water well again after the transplant is complete. To help retain some of that moisture, it is recommended that you place mulch around the tree to a depth of 2"-3" up to but not touching the trunk. Organic mulches such as wood chips or pine needles also contribute to better soil composition and aeration as they decompose. |
