It’s Trouble-free to plant a Red Rocket Crape Myrtle

Step 1 - Dig Your Hole
Red Rocket Crape Myrtle trees like full to partial sun and moist soil that is somewhat acidic. So keep that in mind when selecting your planting site. First, dig a hole a little shallower than the root ball and a minimum of twice the width of the root system. You should also loosen up the soil on the sides of the planting hole with your shovel. This will allow the roots to easily go through the soil as they grow. It’s a good idea to put the soil in a wheel barrow since you’ll be using it for backfill later.
Step 2 - Place Your Tree
Next, carefully separate the roots with a blunt garden tool or just use your fingers and direct them downward in the hole. The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the nearby soil. If there is a preferred side to your Red Rocket Crape Myrtle tree, now is the time to turn it where you can see it. Then make sure the tree is straight up and down in the hole. To make it perfect, use a level.
Step 3 – Backfill Your Hole
Now, backfill the hole in stages. Add water as you go to remove any air pockets. Water your Red Rocket Crape Myrtle again after the transplant is complete. Mulch around the tree to keep the soil moist and improve acidity. Use enough to reach a depth of 2"-3" but keep a small circle around the tree trunk that is left uncovered.
