Planting Your Quaking Aspen Tree is Simple!

Step 1 - Dig Your Hole
Quaking Aspens can be planted anywhere around your structure. If you live in a warmer climate, they prefer the north or east sides of your home. Dig a hole approximately twice the diameter of the root system and slightly shallower than the root ball. It is also a good idea to scrape the sides of the hole with your shovel or a pitch fork so the roots can spread out more easily.
Step 2 - Place Your Tree
Consider the placement of the tree from where you will view it. Adjust the tree so the best side is where you can see it. Make sure it's straight (a level is very helpful here) and the roots are slightly loosened and spread out in the hole.
Step 3 – Backfill Your Hole
Fill the hole back in with soil in stages and add water as you go to remove air pockets. Water the tree again after you're finished back filling. To help hold on to some of that moisture, it is recommended that you place mulch around the tree to a depth of 2"-3" and up to but not touching the trunk.
