Planting your Newport Flowering Plum Tree is Easy!
Step 1 - Dig Your Hole
Select a site that gets plenty of sunlight. Then, dig a hole that is about twice the size of your tree's root system. Try to loosen up the sides of the hole with your shovel. This will allow the roots to grow out easily.
Step 2 - Plant Your Tree
Now, carefully spread out your roots with your fingers and direct them down in the hole. The root system should be an inch above the surrounding soil. Make sure the tree is planted straight up and down.
Next, refill the hole with dirt. Add water to remove any air pockets that will dry out your tree's roots. Mulch around your tree for insulation & moisture retention.
