Planting a Natchez Crape Myrtle tree is easy! |

Step 1 - Dig the Hole
Natchez Crape Myrtle trees prefer full to partial sun and moist, slightly acidic soil. Your hole will need to be approximately twice the diameter of the root system and about the same depth. It is also recommended that you roughen-up the soil on the walls of the planting hole with your shovel or other garden tool. This will allow the roots to easily penetrate the soil as they grow. |

Step 2 - Place the Tree
Set the tree in the planting hole and spread out the roots. The top of the root ball should extend about an inch above the surrounding soil. If there is a preferred side to your Natchez Crape Myrtle, now is the time to turn it so you can see it. Then make sure the tree is straight up and down in the hole. You might want to use a level for precision. |

Step 3 – Backfill the Hole Apply water as you backfill the hole with soil to remove air pockets. Water well again after the transplant is complete. It is recommended that you mulch around your Natchez Crape Myrtle tree to a depth of 2"-3" keeping a small circle around the tree trunk that is not covered with mulch. Adding mulch will develop more acidity in the soil and help keep in moisture. |
