Planting a Muskogee Crape Myrtle tree is simple! |

Step 1 - Dig the Hole
When choosing the planting site for your Muskogee Crape Myrtle tree, keep in mind they prefer full to partial sun and moist soil. Dig a hole approximately twice the diameter of the root system and the about the same depth as the root ball. It is also good to slightly loosen the soil on the walls of the planting hole so the roots can easily penetrate the sides as they spread out. |

Step 2 - Place the Tree
Set your Muskogee Crape Myrtle in the planting hole and spread out the roots. The tree should be straight up and down in the hole. If there is a preferred side to your tree, now is the time to turn it where you can see it. The top of the root ball should be about an inch above the surrounding soil. |

Step 3 – Backfill the Hole Apply water as you backfill the hole with soil to remove air pockets. Water well again after the transplant is complete. It is recommended that you mulch around the tree to a depth of 2"-3" keeping a small circle around the tree trunk that is not covered with mulch. Adding mulch will help retain moisture and increase the acidity of the soil. |
