Planting your Kwanzan Flowering Cherry Tree is Trouble-free |

Step 1 - Dig Your Hole
Cherry trees like your Kwanzan Flowering Cherry like full to partial sun. So keep that in mind when selecting your planting site. First, dig a hole a little shallower than the root ball and at least twice the size of the root system. You should also loosen up the soil on the sides of the planting hole with your shovel. This will allow the roots to easily go through the soil as they grow. Additionally, put the soil in a wheel barrow since you'll be using it for backfill later. |

Step 2 - Place Your Tree Next, carefully separate the roots with your fingers or a blunt garden tool and direct them downward in the hole. The root ball should be about an inch above the surrounding soil. If there is a preferred side to your Kwanzan Flowering Cherry tree, now is the time to turn it where you can see it. Then make sure the tree is straight up and down in the hole. To make it exact, use a level. |

Step 3 – Backfill Your Hole Now, backfill the hole in stages. Add water as you go to remove any air pockets. Water your Kwanzan Cherry tree again after the transplant is complete. Mulch around the tree to keep the soil moist. Use enough to reach a depth of 2"-3" but keep a small circle around the tree trunk that is left uncovered. Organic mulches such as wood chips or pine needles also contribute to better soil structure and aeration as they decompose. |
