Height After
Pruning:
Heights listed on our site are measured after pruning.

Several of our competitors list sizes before they prune then cut off several feet before shipping. While this reduces their shipping cost, it gives their customer a shorter tree than purchased initially. The tree will likely need an extra year to grow back lost branches and to produce fruit.

Our trees are pruned throughout their lives. This process takes us longer, but gives you more branches, more fruit, and quicker production. The size we advertise is what you receive after pruning. Since we do not include the roots in our height measurements, like many nurseries do, you get even more value.

5-6 ft trees are typically one year older than our 2-4 ft ones and will usually give you fruit the first full season.

It's Easy to Plant your Key Lime Tree

Step 1 - Dig Your Hole
Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Key Lime Tree. If you're planting a hedge, mark out a visual guide by placing stakes five to six feet apart and looping string around them. Plant the trees where the stakes are and they'll grow together to make a dense privacy screen. First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width. Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through. Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Step 2 - Place Your Tree
Next, separate the roots of your Key Lime Tree gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole. The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil. Then make sure the tree is exactly vertical in the hole. To make it just right, use a level.
Step 3 - Backfill Your Hole
As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets. Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps. Water your Key Lime Tree again after the transplant is complete. To help retain some of that moisture, it's recommended that you place mulch around each tree to a depth of 2"-3" up to but not touching the trunk. Organic mulches such as wood chips or pine needles also help to better soil structure as they decompose.

Received my lime tree about 2 months ago.
It is doing wonderfully. I moved it inside three weeks ago and put a grow light over it and it is blooming and growing. Very nice plant. I am happy I bought this little tree.

I just received my key lime tree. I ordered this tree as a valentines gift for someone and was expecting to receive a twig (as all reviews for other websites say they received). I have never been so pleasantly surprised!! The tree shipped very quickly (within a week) and is almost five feet tall!!! It already has fruit blossoms on it!!! Great great purchase! I hope everyone chooses to order their trees from this site. I truly am shocked by how great this tree looks! Best bang for your buck out there.

I planted the tree in a huge pot because I have to put it in my greenhouse during the winder. The tree has put out new growth and appears to have adapted quite well to the pot .

I water it once or twice a week and use a fertilizer for citrus plants on it. Also, I use a water soluble fertilizer for acid loving plants (citrus plants love an acid soil) on it once a month.

Growing nicely, blooming and producing a lot of limes.

Tree came almost fully grown, kept it inside in the winter with 8 hours of sun and it's outside now. Doesn't like too much water but very heat resistant with the summer we've had. Few fruits growing but I didn't fertilize as much as I should've this spring. Overall good buy

big, healthy tree. Would appreciate pruning and fertilizing tips, as I am new to this type of tree. Anticipate decent yield next year (if I can over-winter it successfully indoors).

My lime tree, bloomed beautifully and smelled awesome.... then died. I have no idea what went wrong. I was in the desert and couldn't find my order number so I couldn't get a replacement tree. I was very sad about the whole thing.

LOVE this tree. When it came by fedex, I couldn't wait to plant it. It was about 1.5 ft tall. Since planting in a large pot, it has doubled in size in about a months time. I can't wait for the limes to come.

tree doing well in a large pot on the patio. Growing vigorously though no limes yet!

I bought a key lime tree about a month ago. I went to Home Depot and got the best soil they have, the tree is doing great it has new leaves growing and I see tiny little flowers growing that means I will be having limes soon!! This tree is about 3-4 ft. Now when my son saw my lime tree he wanted one so I order another Key Lime tree and a Clementine tree. I receive the 2 other trees about 2 weeks ago. The Key Lime tree came with lots of tiny little white flowers the tree is doing great now this tree is about 4-5 ft. The Clementine tree is about 3 ft tall and is doing great I started to see little flower growing out this little tree. I'm glad I ordered from this website. I highly recommend the Fast-growing-tree. I guess if you buy the best soil they really grow fast and bloom I hope to see limes and clementine soon. Fast growing that is exactly what the trees do when they arrived to your home, just so you all know is february and they are doing great here in NY
