Angel Red Pomegranate

Finally, No More Seed Spitting!

Height After
Pruning:
Heights listed on our site are measured after pruning.

Several of our competitors list sizes before they prune then cut off several feet before shipping. While this reduces their shipping cost, it gives their customer a shorter tree than purchased initially. The tree will likely need an extra year to grow back lost branches and to produce fruit.

Our trees are pruned throughout their lives. This process takes us longer, but gives you more branches, more fruit, and quicker production. The size we advertise is what you receive after pruning. Since we do not include the roots in our height measurements, like many nurseries do, you get even more value.

5-6 ft trees are typically one year older than our 2-4 ft ones and will usually give you fruit the first full season.

This takes all the work out of eating Pomegranates. Angel Reds have the same great taste and amazing nutritional value...but the seeds are soft, tiny and edible. It's similar to a seedless grape. There is still a seed there, but it never forms a hard outer layer, so you hardly notice them.

You will notice that they are juicier than other varieties, which is a great bonus... especially if you blend or juice your Pomegranates.

No more hassle or mess. These are really convenient. In seconds you can cut one open and scrape its delicious fruit into a bowl or on a salad. That's all it takes and your eating.

Since these are so convenient, you'll find yourself eating a lot more of them. Good thing this is a large Pomegranate tree, reaching 15 to 20 feet tall. It's one of the most abundant producers.

This tree is a recent discovery and we are one of the few nurseries to offer it. Angel Red fruit sells out quickly in stores. Commercial growers are scrambling to plant more acreage of them.

Just like most Pomegranates, the Angel Red is simple to grow and adapts to a wide variety of soils and climates. It doesn't need a lot of water, fertilizer or attention and can be easily grown organically.

It thrives in full sun, which is best for flower and fruit production. Once established, it tolerates drought and heat, too. If you have a tough area in your lawn where nothing will grow, this is the fruit tree for you. You also get the benefit of Bright Orange/Red Flowers.

Your Angel Reds ripen in late August and early September. They can be picked fresh for weeks and stored for long periods.

All of our Pomegranates are grown from cuttings and not seed, so you get quicker production and better tasting fruit. Your tree is a fast grower and fast fruiter.

This is one of our hottest new products and will sell out this season. We recommend that you order soon while they are still available.

It's Easy to Plant your Angel Red Pomegranate

Step 1 - Dig Your Hole
Select a site with full to partial sun and moist or well drained soil for your Angel Red Pomegranate. If you're planting a hedge, mark out a visual guide by placing stakes five to six feet apart and looping string around them. Plant the trees where the stakes are and they'll grow together to make a dense privacy screen. First, dig each hole so that it is just shallower than the root ball and at least twice the width. Then loosen the soil in the planting hole so the roots can easily break through. Use your shovel or try dragging the points of a pitch fork along the sides and bottom of the hole.

Step 2 - Place Your Tree
Next, separate the roots of your Angel Red Pomegranate gently with your fingers and position them downward in the hole. The top of the root flare, where the roots end and the trunk begins, should be about an inch above the surrounding soil. Then make sure the tree is exactly vertical in the hole. To make it just right, use a level.
Step 3 - Backfill Your Hole
As you backfill the hole, apply water to remove air pockets. Remove debris like stones and grass and completely break up any dirt clumps. Water your Angel Red Pomegranate again after the transplant is complete. To help retain some of that moisture, it's recommended that you place mulch around each tree to a depth of 2"-3" up to but not touching the trunk. Organic mulches such as wood chips or pine needles also help to better soil structure as they decompose.
