Just order the tree
I just received my two 5 in 1 apple trees today. They were packed well and look extremely healthy. My only concern is one honey crisp branch has no buds or leafs but did a scratch test and the branch has green in it, so I have hope it’s a late bud kind. I couldn’t be happier with the varieties I got on each tree. Tree 1 had Granny Smith, pink lady, honey crisp, gala and Braeburn. Tree 2 had McIntosh, yellow delicious, jona gold, honey crisp and pink lady. Excited to get these planted and see how well they do and will update next year. They came in a grow burlap sack. Each tree is about 6 feet tall. And one tree has an unlabeled extra branch so maybe I got a 6 in 1 tree.
No Labels
The tree arrived fast and looks healthy but no branches were labeled to inform what kind of apple would be grown. For all I know I’ll only be growing a single variety of apple. I understand that the “mystery” is waiting to find out once you order but there should Atleast be something marked in the box/receipt form/ on the branches.
What grafts are on the tree?
I received a shipment of 4 trees and unfortunately the apple tree had several broken limbs. There were no labels on the limbs showing what variety they were. Customer service immediately sent a replacement for the damaged tree (but recommended I plant the first tree because it should survive). The second tree came today and was a foot taller, looked way healthier than the first. No broken limbs. This tree had no labeled limbs either.... so it will be a surprise to see what varieties come up and I won't know when to harvest haha. Overall the tree looks great though.
not labeled branches
as someone mentioned below, I expected to have tags on each branch so I knew what type of apples I got. However mine just has one tag that says “5in1 apple tree”.. not as helpful. I guess it will be a mystery. It did arrive healthy looking and fast so still excited to see what we get
